Obaseki inaugurates Edo Muslim Pilgrims Board, tasks members on successful Hajj operationsEdo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has inaugurated the state’s Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, led by Sheikh Ibrahim Oyarekhua.
The ceremony took place at the newly reconstructed Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Hajj House in Benin City, recently.
Prominent figures in attendance included Hajia Rabi Abiri, immediate past Edo state FOMWAN Amirah, and current Edo State Chapter FOMWAN Amirah, Hajia Usenat Audu, alongside Hajia Hadiza Imodagbe, Etsako West Amirah of FOMWAN.
Governor Obaseki charged the board to ensure seamless and successful pilgrimages for Edo State Muslims.
Recall that the Board commenced sensitisation visits to the League of Imams and Alfas in Egba, Ilaro and Remo zones, to intimate them on the commencement of year 2025 Hajj exercise and also called for the payment of initial deposit of N8,500,000 which could be paid in full or instalments, pending the final announcement of the Hajj fare for next year by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
