SURE: Jonathan launches 370,000 jobs’ scheme

President Goodluck Jonathan will today launch a public works scheme designed to create 370,000 jobs for youths across the country.

According to a statement by Mr. Paul Nwabuikwu, Senior Special Assistant to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, the launch is to give further impetus to the employment generation focus of Jonathan’s administration.

He said: “The breakdown of the proposed jobs shows that 10,000 jobs will be created in each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The public works scheme is a key component of the government’s Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SURE.”

The launch will take place at the Presidential Villa.
