CSL holds first international investors conference, launches quarterly report

CSL Stockbrokers Limited (an associate company of FCMB Plc),  one of Nigeria’s largest stockbroking firms is organizing its first international investors’ conference aimed at bridging information gap between quoted companies on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and local and international investors.

The conference scheduled to hold on the 28th and 29th of September 2009 at Southern Sun Hotel, Ikoyi will also coincide with the launching of the inaugural quarterly investment strategy report by the company.

Gboyega Balogun, Executive Director, CSL, says the conference and the Strategy Report “will present a comprehensive top down research platform to aid institutional investors and private clients (through their accredited investment advisers), for that matter, to make composite investment decisions across all liquid asset classes in these challenging times”

Amongst presenters and speakers lined for the conference include Gregory Kronsten, a seasoned economist and former director with Economist Intelligence Unit in London. Gregory has worked as economic consultant on sub-Saharan Africa and as macro economist for Africa and the Middle East on fixed income desk with WestDeutsche Landesbank and Commerzbank AG, London. Gregory now works with CSL Stockbrokers, London (the UK subsidiary) as Head, Economics.

Other presenters include representatives of regulatory authorities (the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Nigerian Stock Exchange) and the CEOs of selected quoted companies including Dangote Sugar Limited, Benue Cement Company, First Bank of Nigeria, First City Monument Bank Plc, Diamond Bank, Starcomms, Bank PHB, Oando, Guinness, Unilever, PZ, Skye Bank, Continental Re-insurance and National Pension Commission (PENCOM).
The Conference is targeted at institutional investors which consist of Asset Managers, PFA, Insurance companies, Treasury departments of banks and conglomerates, Offshore Portfolio Managers and Stockbrokers.
