The leadership of Owan and Akoko Alliance last weekend gave a red carpet welcome for Edo Deputy Governor Marvellous Omobayo Godwins.
The countless drums roll out recently to receive a pride of the Owan and Akoko-Edo ethnicities, Chief Marvelous Omobayo, whose unpredicted swearing-in as Deputy Governor of Edo state made him a candidate of grace.
A statement by Comrade Sunny Ifijeh, Chairman; Ogumah Omeiza, Secretary; and Jerry Osamaye, for the BoT, noted that “Chief Omobayo is a trail blazer from the Owan and Akoko-Edo political bloc, whose sojourn in politics had build bridges of trust through the grassroots to state parlance.
“He is a frantic mobilizer of the people for common causes, breaking political barriers, eschewing parochial bitterness in his politicking, setting standards of human capital development and adorning seamless philanthropic gestures across Edo-North Senatorial district.
“A dexterous Electrical Engineer cum Public Administrator, the new deputy governor is in pragmatic tandem for the “FINISHING WELL” mantra of the Governor Godwin Obaseki administration.
“Indeed, the euphoria that engulfed Akoko-Edo and Owan people transcends having a Deputy Governor, but a fortunate coincidence with having an ebullient EDHA Speaker Blessing Agbebaku, an erudite Reps Leader Prof. Julius Ihonbhere, and EDHA Minority Leader Barr. Eric Okaka.
