Osim emerges 18th APWEN Nat’l president, calls for inclusion

The newly inaugurated national president of Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria, APWEN, Engr. Adebisi Osim, FNSE, has called for inclusion of women engineers in the national development policy by the present administration led by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

During her inauguration speech in Abuja, Osim disclosed that APWEN under her leadership, would forge through the path of innovation, inclusivity, and empowerment in the world of engineering.

“We shall continue to celebrate our own through recognition and rewards because fostering a culture of appreciation is a form of motivation. At the chapter levels and other avenues that will be provided for engineers to take on leadership roles, will be encouraged as this allows our members to showcase and enhance their leadership skills.

“Plans are already being developed in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Water Engr. Adebisi Resources and Sanitation to engage our members in the area of entrepreneurship through training in the Agricultural sector.

”APWEN shall maintain its community development engagement as partners with the Organised Private Sector on Water Sanitation and Hygiene, OPSWASH,” she said.

Meanwhile, the President, Nigeria Society of Engineers, NSE, Engr. Margaret Oguntala, FNSE, while commending the association for their moral support and collaboration with NSE urged the new administration to exhibit the true essence of leadership
