A real estate firm, Seven30 Real Estate Limited, has called on the Federal Government to expedite actions in enforcing laws against land grabbing.
The firm’s founder, Mr Oluwole Fapohunda, who lamented the incursion of land grabbers into the real estate industry, said their activities were one of the reasons the cost of owning and developing landed properties in Nigeria was on the rise.
Fapohunda said government needs to start considering the building industry as a prime contributor to the country’s economic growth because it can create jobs, attract foreign investment and provide affordable housing for the citizenry.
Speaking during the allocation of land to customers in Lagos, he stressed that although Seven30 Real Estate finds its way around land grabbing, many Nigerians don’t.
On what his visions for Nigeria’s real estate sector, he said: “We dreamt of a world where buying land and turning dreams into reality was not only achievable but also instant. We want to create a real estate space that delivers a viable, safe and convenient investment portfolio.
“We have provided jobs to young people and have provided an opportunity for people to partner with us and earn through a channel called the commissioners. Customer service, integrity and delivering at instant are what make us unique.
“We deliver our documentation in less than two months. We have great quality customers service. They undergo training to be the best. We have a team called the Commissioners. They partner with us to refer and sell our products and they earn with commission. It is part of creating jobs and reducing unemployment in the country.”
While advising customers to be patient when investing in the building industry, the real estate expert said: “I have a few properties in Nigeria and some of my regrets is that I did not buy more. My other regret is that I sold some when I needed money. Meanwhile, I could have used other means to get that money and solve that problem at the time. Be patient while investing in real estate because it is not crypto.
“If you have bought one, I recommend that you keep buying more and the beautiful thing is: when you have multiple units in multiple real estate, when you want to start making money, you can do that by selling one plot to build the other. It means you don’t have to take money from your active income. It is called using today’s convenience to secure tomorrow’s luxury.”
Meanwhile, a customer, John Dough, who spoke to Vanguard, said: “I have seen the worth of money paid for. They promised and they delivered. Whatever they said they would give out in terms of documentation, they did deliver. I appreciate the team and I want them to keep it up.”
