Derek San Vicente, Canadian music producer and entertainer popularly called DJ Power, in collaboration with Nigerian music superstars, is set to commence an extensive music tour across Nigeria and other African countries for the Yuletide celebrations.
DJ Power, said he was ready to explore Nigeria’s lively music culture and establish meaningful collaborations with Nigerian pop stars and other key industry players to dish out Afrobeat music.
DJ Power made the remark on Friday, while addressing newsmen on the highlights of the upcoming event in Lagos, saying that “this is my first time visiting Africa with Nigeria being the flag off of the memorable ground breaking African tour.”
He said that he is looking forward to his first performance in Nigeria on December 29 at the Good Beach.
DJ Power, noted that “the groundbreaking journey with BAROQUE Works Studio as promoter in Nigeria and across the African continent will not only allow me to immerse myself in Nigeria’s vibrant music scene but also collaborate with other music superstars in Nigeria and Africa to produce Afrobeat music.
“Having always been captivated by Africa’s rich musical heritage, I duly recognize Nigeria’s pivotal role in shaping the global music landscape.
“I am eager to personally explore the country’s lively music culture and establish meaningful collaborations with Nigerian music stars and other key industry players.”
He stated that his goal is to create groundbreaking tracks that will resonate with audiences worldwide, showcasing the essence of Afrobeat.
DJ Power said, “I firmly believe in the unifying power of music and am honoured to work alongside Nigerian artists to create innovative and genre-defying tracks that celebrate Afrobeat.”
He said that in addition to Nigeria, his African tour will include: stops in other musically renowned countries such as: Ethiopia, South Africa, Uganda, Botswana, Tanzania, among others, stressing that this extraordinary tour will not only showcase but also serve as a bridge between global music communities, fostering exchange and collaboration.
“My commitment to afrobeat extends beyond collaborations with Nigerian artists. I am dedicated to producing afrobeat music that resonates with audiences worldwide.
“By infusing my signature style and expertise into Afrobeat production, my aim is to introduce this vibrant genre to new listeners and expand its global reach.

Speaking on the #rocktheclimate campaign, he said everyone has a responsibility to conserve the environment and mitigate the impact of greenhouse gases on the ecosystem.
