Ogun govt pays Daniel condolence visit over father’s death

ABEOKUTA— A powerful delegation from the government of Ogun State yesterday paid the immediate past governor, Gbenga Daniel,a visit in his  Sagamu home  to commiserate with him over the death of his  father, Pa Abraham Daniel who died on Wednesday.

The delegation  which was led  by the Secretary to the state government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, delivered a condolence letter from the state governor, Ibikunle Amosun.

Adeoluwa admonished Daniel to take heart and solace in the fact that his late father lived and dedicated his live to serve God, his people and humanity, saying,  “I did not know him, but when you see the offspring you can tell who he was, I understand that he was a dedicated man of God, may his gentle and humble soul rest in peace.“

Responding to the visit, the ex-governor thanked the delegation and the state government for the visit, saying that, in spite of the tight schedule of the  government functionaries, they still deemed it necessary to pay him a visit.

Daniel  said that he was aware of the current challenges that the state was facing however added: ”all the present challenges are resolvable and I pray that God will help us in moving this state forward.

He said: “I pray that God will continue to guide you to lead the state to greater height, I thank the governor for sending this powerful delegation, I say a big thank you.

While speaking on the burial ceremony, Daniel told the delegation that the family would meet to discuss funeral arrangements and communicate with the government and the public   ‘’as soon as the plans were concluded.”
