Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Ochei, has challenged Nigerian engineers to channel their expertise to the development of the country, as the profession is central to any developmental process.

He spoke at the 44th Annual General Meeting of the Nigeria Society of Engineers, NSE, where he was conferred with the Fellowship of the Society in Calabar.

Ochei said engineering was the bedrock of any developmental initiative, maintaining that developed economies attained global reckoning by upholding the overriding imperatives of the profession as a veritable tool capable of bringing about meaningful development in all facets of national endeavour.

Earlier in his speech, President of NSE, Chief Olumuyiwa Ajibola promised to use the theme of the conference to ensure an effective transportation system in the country.
