THE compensation payments to all ex-soldiers of the Nigerian Civil War as approved by the President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan will commence soon.
A statement issued by the Chairman of the Civil War Veterans, Vet. John Mozia, the secretary, Vet. Charles Okechukwu, the PRO, Vet. Polite Chidebe and the Coordinator for Imo and other Eastern States, Vet. Marcelinus Igwe, directed all those affected to come along with their personal bank Accounts to the temporary office of the Civil War Veterans, at No. 118 Umejei Road, by Professor Obi Chike Onwuachi, Ibusa, Delta State on Tuesday 6th December 2011 at 10.am.
Those who are yet to register and revalidate their documents are advised to do so, to enable the forwarding of their documents to the Veterans Department of the Civil Defence Headquarters of the Nigerian Army, Abuja.
The statement adds that no ex-soldier would be paid without the submission of the personal bank account and other relevant data and enjoined all to comply.
Meanwhile, the group have expressed appreciation to the President and his team for the kind gesture saying that the gesture would go a long way to offset some financial problems facing the ex-soldiers for over forty one years, since the Nigerian civil war ended
