Asian Motors and Weichai Power Company Limited of China have sealed a business pact for the sale of the Weichai engines in Nigeria. Asian Motors is the distributor of Foton brand of vehicles.

A statement by the Nigerian firm  said, “by this arrangement, Asian Motors had become the authorised agent of Weichai Power in Nigeria to sell and service Weichai diesel engines and related parts used by different trucks/vehicles, mechanical equipment, maritime ship and power generators.

According to the General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Asian Motors, Mr. Parminder Singh, as saying the drive to continuously supply quality products led Asian Motors to firm up a partnership with Weichai Power Company.

He said Weichai diesel engines were noted for high efficiency, low maintenance cost and without environmentally emission complaints.

“The engines’ performance with the company’s after-sales backup will keep the customer exited and satisfied,”  he said. Adding that  “As a customer focused company, Asian Motors will remain unrelenting in providing timely solutions to the transportation / haulage challenges in the country.

“Weichai Power, established since 1946 by Weifang Diesel Engine factory, has a strong pedigree and is still dedicated to the research and development, manufacturing and sales of high power diesel engines.”

He added that the benefits of this relationship to the Nigerian auto market and other automotive sectors were enormous.

Through Asian Motors with robust sales and after-sales infrastructure, Weichai Power Company would have the confidence to provide Nigeria-oriented power products with accompanying quick-respond service network to sustain customer satisfaction, the statement added. It said there was a guaranteed availability of the Weichai diesel engines and genuine parts, which enjoyed global advantage for being reliable, energy-saving and highly efficient.

The statement said Weichai Power’s unique technology had made the company a pacesetter in many fronts.

For instance, it recalled that in 2006, it became the first company in China to introduce the big displacement high speed diesel engine, known globally as the WD12 with 480HP and 12L displacement diesel engines.

The introduction accelerated the sport utility vehicle market upgrade not only in China but also worldwide.

The statement noted, “The popularity of this product knows no bound, essentially because it provides stronger impetus to many heavy duty vehicles and its energy-saving, reliability and safety advantages.

“The WD12 exudes higher performance and greatly improve operational efficiency through integrated operation that reduces fuel consumption but increases vehicle dynamics and enhances maximum torgue for stronger vehicle load capacity.”

It also said, with advanced technology, Weichai Power guarantees the reliability of its engines and extends the service life much more by effectively reducing the heat load on engine crankshaft, bearings and other components.
