Glo Naija Sings : Oluwakemi out

29-year-old Oluwakemi became the second contestant to be eliminated from GLO NAIJA SINGS by viewers on Sunday night in a show screened on M-Net. While she became a part of the audience and may not have felt the love from voters, the Top 8 went on to tackle “International Pop & Rock” theme and some of the contestants had the studio audience screaming and applauding on their feet.

Before taking a seat in the audience, Oluwakemi was asked how she was feeling, “It’s been fun and I’m happy with the people I’ve met”, adding, “It’s the beginning of lots of great things in my life and I’m happy and I thank Nigeria and Africa”.

With the drama of elimination out of the way, Dare welcomed guest judge, singer/songwriter, famous for her ‘Taxi Driver’ remake, Mandy Brown-Ojugbana and the show’s resident judges, Onyeka Onwenu and Olisa Adibua, all of who will be casting a  professional eye over the Top 8’s performances.

The judges may have their say, but the power to choose Africa’s favourite singer is in the hands of the viewers! One talented contestant will walk away with the US$100 000 grand prize from M-Net, a fabulous Toyota Rav 4 from Glo and the opportunity to be a Glo Ambassador.

Tee-Songz got the party started with ‘If You’re Not The One’ by Daniel Beddingfield. “You are the best” purred one audience member, while the other told him his voice was marvelous. Thanking the audience for their comment and encouragement, Tee Songz walked back stage.

Vicky was up next with Shania Twain’s ‘Still The One’. Her beautiful vocal rendition of one the greatest songs of all times had the audience impressed. Vicky who earlier on admitted to Denrele how good it feels to be loved by the judges and everyone admits to enjoying the good reviews.
