NFF decides Siasia’s fate on Thursday

By Tony Ubani
THE Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, would make a prouncement on the fate of embattled Super Eagles coach, Samson Siasia on Thursday.

Technical Committee Chairman of the NFF, Barrister Chris Green who looked ruffled yesterday apparently from the harsh reality of Nigeria missing from the Nations Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea next year said that they were still studying the contract of Siasia.

“His contract is clear. It is hinged on his qualification for the Nations Cup. But we are still looking at the details and will make it known to you people on Thursday”, Green who was accompanied by NFF image maker, Ademola Olajire said.

Apparently aware that his fate was in the hands of his employers, Siasia when contacted said; “It is not in my hands now. Whatever the NFF decide, we will accept. If they want us to stay, we will carry on rebuilding this team in the right way. If they don’t, we will say thank you and move on. That is the way football works.”

The Super Eagles are set to face their continent arch rivals Ghana in a friendly in London today by 8 pm.

“We have to put what happened behind us. There is nothing we can do about it. We just have to learn from our mistakes and make sure we play a good game and win against Ghana.”
