AKURE—GOVERNOR Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State Wednesday sent names of 16 commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly.

Among the names are former Special Adviser on Media to the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Kayode Akinmade, the son of the a leader of the Afenifere, Ayodeji Falae and two women, Mrs. Yinka Alabi and Mrs. Margret Akinsuroju.

Falae’s son contested for the National Assembly Primaries under the platform of Labour Party, LP, but lost while Mrs. Akinsuroju was a former Commissioner under the immediate past Governor Olusegun Agagu.

The House is expected to screen the nominees between today and tomorrow.

Those cleared are expected to be inaugurated by next week.

Another list of nominees from Ese Odo, Owo, Okitipupa and Ose are to be forwarded to the lawmakers next week.

Others that made the list include former Agriculture Commissioner, Remi Olatubora, Sports Commissioner, Alhaji Yekini Olanipekun, Budget and Economic Planning Akin Adaramola and the present Chairman of the state Law Commission Chief Sola Ebiseni.

Also in the list are former Interim caretaker Chairman of Akure South, Tayo Oluwatuyi, Former Special Adviser on Due Process, Igbekele Daudu, Dr Dayo Adeyanju, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, Ademola Olorunfemi, Tayo Akinjomu Taye Akinyede and Nicholas Tofowomo who decamped from the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, to the ruling LP.

Investigations revealed that stakeholders from the four council areas where nominees are yet to be picked were still discussing on names to send to the governor.

It will be recalled the governor had earlier sworn- in four former Commissioners; the Attorney General and Justice Commissioner Eyitayo Jegede, Works Gboye Adegbenro ,Community Development Commissioner, Chief Clement Faboyede and Finance Chief Yele Ogundipe.
