National president of  The Apostolic Church of Nigeria, Pastor Gabriel Olutola has accused the Nigeria Police of negligence in handling the menace of Boko Haram and the spate of insecurity in the country.

Pastor Olutola made this assertion at a press conference to herald the second African zonal leadership conference of the church scheduled to begin on Monday. He noted that the Police Force has been ineffective in the area of security, saying that the force should be in a better position to handle security issues in the country.

According to him, the theme of the convention is; “Contending for the Christian faith that was once delivered to the saints”. “I have read about the immigration service, army and the SSS but what is Nigeria police doing? Where are they? They are better trained to handle civil issues and how to detect crimes in any society including bomb disp-osals,” he noted.

Decriing the dangerous dimension the issue of insecurity has assumed in the nation, Olutola called on the Federal Government to overhaul the Nigerian Police Force for effective policing, adding that the spate of bombings by Boko Haram and the general insecurity in the country is capable of disintegrating the country.

“If the Nigeria Police will not be useful for us, the Federal Government should sanitize the security services in the country,” he stated, adding that the country desires peace at this time of the nation’s political history.

Speaking on the theme of the convention, Pastor Olutola said the conference will afford people to debunk false teachings that have polluted Christianity, particularly at this end times, adding that the conference will influence the African continent.

“When our messages are harmonized our focus will be the same and we will be able to influence our continent for global peace,” he added.
