LAGOS — The Lagos State Government, yesterday, said it needed about N109 billion to construct various inner road projects in the state and its environs.
Meanwhile, construction work on the Ijegun-Isheri Link Bridge in Ikotun Igando Local Council Development Area, LCDA, has reached 50 per cent completion and expected to be completed in the next 12 months.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, disclosed these after an inspection tour of projects in the area.
The commissioner, who was accompanied by Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure, Engr Ganiyu Johnson, reiterated the commitment of the state government towards the construction of inner roads across the state.
Hamzat, who was optimistic on delivering a sustainable road network for the residents, lamented scarcity of finance, saying funds remained a major challenge to the road projects in the state.
