Lagos: Captain Joseph Yobo led 10 other players into the Super Eagles Hilton Watford lodgings on Sunday afternoon, as camp opened for the team’s Tuesday’s international friendly against Ghana.
A statement by Colin Udoh, the team’s Media Officer, said on Monday in Lagos that 19 players were expected to complete the squad, after withdrawals occasioned by injuries and visa problems.
The statement said that expected to arrive on Monday morning were goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba, forwards Peter Utaka and Solomon Okoronkwo and defenders Elderson Echiejile and Yusuf Ayila.
Also expected are John Mikel Obi, Osaze Odemwingie and Obinna Nsofor, it said.
The statement said that those who arrived on Sunday were Chigozie Agbim, Joseph Yobo, Taye Taiwo, Chibuzor Okoronkwo, Danny Shittu, Kalu Uche, Joel Obi, Ike Uche, Victor Anichebe and Emmanuel Ekpo.
It added that the squad would have their first training session at 6 p.m. on Monday. (NAN)
