Reforms: Firm positive on Nigeria’s economic growth

Niger Insurance Plc’s management has elicited optimism on the ongoing reforms in the nation’s financial services sector.

The insurer elucidated that the impact of the reform would translate to growth in income for companies and returns on investment for shareholders.

Alhaji Bala Zakariya’u, Chairman of Niger Insurance plc said the economy is looking up and would impact positively on organisations that key in properly.

Bala who spoke during a chat with Journalist in Lagos said the anticipated conducive economic environment will create ample opportunities for the insurance industry in 2011.

“We are ready and able to key into the various programmes of the government and its agencies to maximise our income and add more value to our shareholders and other stakeholders”.

He said Niger Insurance will pursue its Niger Enterprise Transformation (NEST) agenda which commenced last year to the next level to enhance the speed and efficiency of our service delivery.

According to him, with the expected injection of fresh funds into the company’s operations, we will refocus and rebuild our investment portfolio, revamp our product offering, expand our distribution network and complete the installation of our information and communication technology platform”

Bala stated further the Niger will continue to build more strategic and enduring business alliances and embark on more aggressive marketing.

Besides, he said the company will embark on human capital development to enhance the capacity and capability of our workforce. “

“While pursuing the above objectives, we will ensure that we do not compromise in our standard of excellence and professionalism, which we have achieved over the years”

As one of the major industry players, we support a functioning regulatory framework and therefore continue to commit to the promotion of the implementation of regulatory measures and guidelines, the Niger boss noted.

The managing director/CEO, Dr Justus Clinton Uranta also positive on future of the economy going forward noted that Niger would continue to strategize in its area of business to ensure that her services remain tops in the industry.

According to him, as market competition continues to get tougher with expectation from customers getting higher by the day, management is challenged to live up to standard in policy decision and implementation.
