.. It’s sheer blackmail – Miyetti Allah

Suspected Fulani militias have allegedly razed down Sabon Kaura village in Atyap Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna state on Tuesday night.

Four locals were feared dead during the night attack. The authorities in Kaduna were yet to react on the development as the Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO), ASP Mohammed Jalige, was yet to answer inquiries on the attack.

However, a local said “virtually all the houses in the village were completely burnt by the attackers.”

“The suspected Fulani militias came in their hundreds and carried out their plans. For now four persons have been confirmed killed while many are missing can not confirmed those injured.”

“The entire village is in total confusion of what happened, there were only 5 security personnel present when the attackers invaded the area and, therefore, they could not be able to contain them,” he alleged. 

In his response, Director of Media of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) , Ibrahim Bayero, said “we as Fulani Community leaders are tired of these constant blackmail by the Kataf (Atyap)”

“After they attacked Innocent Fulani Pastoralists in the area of Atyap (Kataf) Chiefdom, they always  blow fake alarms. No Fulani man was involved in anything concerning attack or killing. Our Communities are the ones at the receiving end from the Kataf militias.”

“They killed herders and they also killed our cows unnecessarily and poison drinking ponds , waylay our people on roads and kill Innocent travellers,” he alleged.
