UGHELLI – A commercial motorcyclist, was Monday, crushed to death at Oghenevweta Junction in the Ughelli metropolis, Delta State, on the East/West Road.

The passenger on the motorcycle, an official of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, serving in Ughelli unit command, Mr John Izokaih, is in a criticall condition at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, following multiple fractures he sustained in the fatal accident.

Vanguard  gathered that the Okada rider and his passenger were hit from behind by a Mercedez Benze car travelling from the Port Harcourt end of the road.

The source, who pleaded anonymity, said the driver of the Mercedez Benz was arrested by police officers attached to the Ughelli ‘A’ police division.

According to him, the corpse of the motorcyclist, whose identity was  unknown  at press time, had been deposited at the Ughelli Central Hospital mortuary.

Efforts to reach the police authorities in the division  at press time, proved abortive.
