Lagos – A total of 359.48 million shares worth N2.11 billion were traded in 4,151 deals on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday.
This was against 933.61 million shares worth N2.28 billion traded in 5,136 deals on Thursday.
The market indices appreciated by 0.28 per cent on Friday.
The All-Share Index rose by 72.91 points to close at 25,790.64 from the opening index of 25,717.73.
The Market capitalisation of listed equities also appreciated by N23 billion to close at N8.240 trillion from the N8.217 recorded on Wednesday.
The Banking sub-sector was the most active, trading 101.12 million shares valued at N614.22 million in 2,193 deals.
The Breweries sub-sector followed with 88.43 million shares valued at N238.89 million exchanged in 183 deals.
The Petroleum (Marketing) sub-sector came third with 53.08 million shares worth N157.24 million traded in 299 deals.
Guinness recorded the highest price appreciation of N3.99 to close at N230 per share.
Dangote Cement rose by N2.68 to close at N130 per share while Conoil appreciated by N1.75 to close at N36.75 per share.
NNFM topped the price losers’ pack, dropping N1.53 to close at N29.20 per share.
IntBrew lost 30k to close at N6.50 per share while Diamond bank fell by 28k to close at N6.56 per share. (NAN)
