In what observers believe is the state government gradual implementation of the report of the just concluded educational submit held in the state, Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi, acting as the Visitor to all the three state-owed universities, has given his approval to the sack of the Vice Chancellors of the three institutions.

The affected Vice Chancellors are, Professors Dipo Kolawole, Samuel Oye Bandele and Akin Ogunlade of University of Ado Ekiti, UNAD, University of Science and Technology Ifaki Ekiti, USTI and University of Education Ikere Ekiti, TUNEDIK, respectively.

Also, the Acting Provost of the College of Education Ikere Ekiti, Dr Titilayo Ogunmola, has been relieved of her post and a substantive Provost in person of Professor Francesca Aladejana from the Faculty of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile Ife appointed as her replacement.

Though no reason was adduced for their sack, according to the statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor, Mr Mojeed Jamiu, Wednesday, Prof Kolawole was asked to hand over to the most senior professor from the university. According to the statement, “the changes are to take immediate effect.”
