The Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, caused upset in Bayelsa State when it won the Ekeremor constituency III election into the state House of Assembly.
The PPA candidate, Victor Perezi, polled 3,125 votes to beat his closest rival Lokiri Lumumba of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who scored 3,006 votes.
A breakdown of the result as released by the constituency returning officer, Mr. Stephen Egoro, indicated that the Labour Party candidate, Dein Benadoume, who is the incumbent lawmaker representing the constituency, will not be returning to the assembly as he came third with 1,261 votes.
Others include, Geregere Elimi of the NPC who scored 291 votes, ANPP candidate Arekumur Godspower scored 56 while Demesuoyefa Kolomo of the Action Congress of Nigeria polled 28 votes.
