Judge tasks NBA on nomination into Election Tribunals

Port Harcourt – A High Court judge,  Justice Bio Georgewill, has advised members of Nigeria Bar Association in Rivers to be proactive in nominating judges for Election Petition Tribunals.

Georgewill, a High Court Judge in Rivers,  gave the advice at a seminar in Port Harcourt .

He said the association should ensure that nominations for the tribunals and courts were under their watchful eyes to ensure that competent judges with zero tolerance for corruption and delay in litigations were selected.

This, he said, would guarantee justice from the tribunals and courts, explaining: “To me this the best practice in the conduct of election petition tribunals.”

Georgewill noted that the success or failure of the country’s democracy remained a function of the commitment or lack of it to ideals of justice and democracy.
