…releases grants, food items to Osun State returnees

OSOGBO – Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has blamed the crisis in Cote d’ voire on the failure of leadership.

The Governor, while addressing Osun  natives of the State who recently returned home from the war-torn Cote d’voire, in Iwo and Ejigbo Local Government areas.

He stated that, “If some of our leaders in Nigeria and those of their counterparts in Abidjan had been responsible, the crisis in Cote d’ voire could have been properly managed.”

Ogbeni Aregbesola, however, called on the Federal Government and all other African Heads of State to quickly intervene in the crisis.

The Governor, in a bid to alleviate the suffering of the returnees, released grants and food items them.

In Iwo, the Governor  said,  “we urge our people to support their brothers and sisters who have just returned from Abidjan, we in our capacity as government, will do all we can to alleviate the stress of the displaced people in Cote D’Ivoire”

He also assured that Osun State Government will leave no stone unturned in evacuating all the state indigenes stranded in that country.

“As a responsible government, we have decided to share in the plight of the returnees by ensuring that they settle down quickly. We have arranged with their local governments how life would be made better in the state.”
