Former Rangers Technical Adviser Christian Chukwu believes  the Nigerian Premier League, NPL will  be better if the management of the NPL  focuses more on  players and officials welfare in the  second half season.

Chukwu, who scored  the league average in the first half of the season, said the league could be  above average  if the NPL could make provision for players and officials  in the league.

“Generally, I think the league went well in the first half. There was no much complain compared to what it was before. We saw some away wins and the NPL also made sure that matches were played in a good atmosphere and on  good pitches. So with this I will give them a past mark.

“What I think they should do in the second half, is to make sure that players and officials are seriously taken care of because they are the key  actors in the game who give us what we want to see on the field.

Also, they should ensure that matches are played in a friendly atmosphere, if possible televise all matches nation wide as it will go a long way to improve the league.

Lastly,  the referees should improve in their officiating. No doubt  they did well in the first  half, they still need to improve on their performance,” Chukwu said.
