Of what benefit is it for a man to reap where he did not sow?  This is one mind-bugging question that Uzor Godson Nwaosu, the Chief Executive Officer of Guinks Productions,  is asking those culprits who pirated his two films just a week after they were released into the market.

The films, “Tears of the Moon” and “Jewel of the Sun” were Nwaosu’s latest offering which were released into the market early last month.

At the moment, no arrest has been made in respect of those  behind the illegal business but Nwaosu said he’s working underground to uncover the identity of the culprits.

He told HVP on telephone that the pirated copies of the two movies were intercepted at the Alaba International market and Onitsha market respectively.

Nwaosu who is currently counting his loses said the pirates swung into action, pirating the films a week after they were released into the market. The films dwell on social issues, and starred  Emeka Ike, Mike

Ezuruonye, Mercy Johnson, Joyce Kalu, Linda Chinyere and other notable names in Nollywood.

It would be recalled that veteran cinematographer, Tunde Kelani suffered the same fate last year when his big-budget epic film, “Arugba” was pirated a week after the film was released  into market.

Kelani lamented  the infringement on his copyright but nothing was done to stem the tide. It was indeed, not for nothing that one of the pioneer producers in Nollywood, Igwe Gab Okoye recently vowed never to return to film making until the government  addresses  the issue of piracy in this country.
