AKURE – POLICE in Ondo State have arrested two political thugs who vandalized a vehicle belonging to Senator Bode Olajumoke, the Senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Northern senatorial district area of the state and molested his wife, Princes Remi.
Also, vehicles said to belong to a member of the State House of Assembly have been impounded by the police in Akungba area of the state.
Narrating her ordeal in the hands of the political thugs at Akungba, the wife of the Senator, Princes Remi Olajumoke, said she was attacked by the thugs while in Akungba for an engagement last weekend at about 740pm.
Princes Olajumoke noted that the thugs who trailed her drove recklessly and blocked her way only to shatter the windscreen and side glasses of the Black Chevrolet Jeep she was traveling in.
According to her, the thugs on noticing the campaign vehicle of her husband jumped into their own vehicle and started trailing her until they doubled cross the driver and vandalized the vehicle.
Princes Olajumoke alleged that the thugs were supporters of a House of Assembly member in the state.
According to her, the matter had been reported at the Akungba Divisional Police station and that the thugs had been arrested and their vehicle impounded.
Ondo State Police PRO, Adeniran Aremu confirmed the attack of the vehicles of the Senator by some hoodlums in Akungba Akoko and said that one person has been arrested.
Aremu who added that the matter had been transferred to the state CID for further interrogation declined to name the political party the thug belongs to.
