An Ogun State High Court has awarded N100 million damages against the former Deputy Speaker of Ogun State, Dr. Babatunde Osin, for libeling Ex-deputy governor of the state, Alhaji Gbenga Kaka, in a publication in a national daily.

Delivering judgment in a suit initiated by Kaka against the former deputy speaker, an Abeokuta High Court judge, Justice O. O. Olapade, found the defendant guilty of defaming the character of the former deputy governor, and awarded N100 million against Osin.

The judge  also granted a perpetual injunction “restraining the defendant from further printing, circulating, distributing or publishing any similar publication concerning the claimant.” The Court also awarded a cost of N40,000 against the defendants in the suit.
