Abraham Ehichioya Edoror, a Nigerian citizen had experienced unmitigated challenges both at home and abroad. Edoror fled from Nigeria due to threat from the dreaded Boko Haram on Friday, May 20, 2011.
Abraham, a devout Christian and politician used to live in Benue State, Middle Belt part of Nigeria, but fled to Lagos in the South-West in a bid to escape ferocious attack.
He has been on the hit lists of the insurgent group who mainly have aversion for his belief and meteoric rise in politics.
The insurgent group in their characteristic nature advanced their search for him. In the midst of this persecution in May 2011, Abraham had a six-month visiting visa to the United Kingdom.
A month after he left for the UK, the dreaded sect channeled their vexation against his wife, Joy Edoror and murdered her and her and two children – Junior and Kelvin Edoror. Abraham has since been hiding in the UK for safety reason.
It has become a daily occurrence in Nigeria for the deadly sect, Boko Haram and kidnappers to abduct people at free will, even after collecting ransom such a victim would be killed and their corpse buried in a shallow grave sometimes in a thick forest.
This issue has been going on unabated by the authority, while some who are lucky to escape seek asylum in European countries. Also, another common killing that has persistently occurred in Nigeria is political murder cases.
When contacted the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said they are still making efforts to make sure the killers of Mrs. Edoror and her children are brought to book.
