NLC in a statement by its President, Comrade Abdulwaheed Omar, insisted that come Monday, February 14, NLC, its affiliates and members of the civil societies, would shut down operations of the bank across the country.

NLC said: “Mrs Osibodu has boasted that she had deployed soldiers to guard all its branches and ordered them to shoot-at-sight any worker who comes for picketing.

“While we are aware that Mrs Osibodu is acting the script of bigger masquerades, we wish to state that not even the troops she has mobilised to guard the bank branches would be able to stop the power of working people come Monday, February 14, 2011.”
