Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), said plans has been concluded to organise its 32nd Kaduna International Trade Fair (KITF).

In a parley with pressmen at the NACCIMA secretariat, Lagos, the First Deputy President of KADCCIMA, Hon. Abdullahi Muhammadu Sani, said the chamber is fully prepared for the upcoming KITF which will be declared opened by President GoodLuck Jonathan on Saturday 26th February, 2011, and that necessary facilities has been put on ground for the fair.

According to him, the theme of this year’s fair is  “National Energy Road Map for Nigeria’s Growth and Development”  which he said was carefully chosen given the centrality of the sector to the programme of the federal government in its current effort towards revamping the economy of the country and placing it on a sound footing, particularly given the challenging tasks of attaining the 20-2020 vision by the present administration.

“We are in contact with policy makers, federal and state ministries of commerce, NIPC, trade and investment missions abroad, foreign missions in Nigeria, NACCIMA and other trade associations as well   as various chambers of commerce across the country to partner with us in the promotion of this year’s fair. A number of sub_committees have also started working to ensure successful hosting of the trade fair” he said.

He disclosed that the chamber has gone into discussion with some companies from over eight countries who have already signified their interests to participate in the fair and that as part of their effort in this direction, the chamber will be organising a one_day seminar with all major stakeholders from both the public and private sectors including members of the Academia to discuss and deliberate on the fair.

Sani commended President GoodLuck Jonathan for taking steps to liberalise the nation’s power sector through a phased disengagement process, which he believes, will in the long run help in bringing about a lasting solution to energy problem in the country that has been the bane of our socioeconomic development.
