The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), yesterday announced that former NFA Chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, will serve as Match Commissioner, in the eagerly awaited friendly between the Super Eagles and Leone Stars of Sierra Leone taking place in Lagos Wednesday.

NFF Technical Committee boss, Chris Green, said the appointment is in recognition of Galadima’s robust credentials as a sports and football technocrat and that the former Kano State Commissioner for Sports has already accepted to play the role.

The idea was muted by NFF President, Aminu Maigari, who called up Galadima along with Green and the he accepted to play the role. Confirming the development, Galadima said anything he can do to move sports and football forward in the country he would do, hence his acceptance of the role of  Match Commissioner.

“It’s a call to service and we’re always up for such national and international duties. He is expected in Lagos this morning for the game scheduled for 7pm.

Nigerian time. The NFF has already forwarded Galadima’s name as Nigeria’s replacement for Dr Amos Adamu, in the CAF Executive Committee seat.

CAF appoints Ogunjobi, too

The Confederation of African Football, CAF has appointed Osun State FA Chairman, Taiwo Ogunjobi as match commissioner for this weekend’s CAF Confederation Cup tie between Ghana’s Ashanti Gold and Sewe Sport of Ivory Coast.

The match takes place in Ghana this weekend. Chief Ogunjobi was chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation technical committee during  the Alhaji Sani Lulu-led NFF board.
