The Bayelsa State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, may be heading for fresh crisis following the adoption of aviation expert and former Federal Permanent Secretary, Dr. Imoro Kubor, as the party consensus candidate for the state governorship election by the zonal leadership of the party headed by Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, National Vice Chairman (South South).

The adoption of Kubor as the party consensus candidate is being faulted by the camp of Chief Ayakeme Whisky, a former Commissioner for Lands in the state who was earlier returned as winner of the party congress having reportedly scored the highest vote cast.

This is because three days after the result of the purported governorship primaries was announced from Port Harcourt in Rivers State that Whisky was the party flag bearer, the pendulum, it was learnt, swung in the direction of Dr. Imoro Kubor following the decision of the zonal leader to adopt the latter as the ACN consensus candidate for the April governorship polls.
