FORMER Governor of Ogun State Chief Olusegun Osoba asked the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] in Ogun State give all the political parties in the satte, the list of their personnels in each polling station to clear itself of the allegation that its workforce for the registration excercise was being sponsored by a political.
Chief Osoba spoke at his Ago-Oba Ward in Abeokuta while undertaking his voters’ registration in front of his family compound in the state capital.
He said “there are many issues i still want to clear with INEC. For example, there is the allegation that its personells are being sponsored by a political party. In the spirit of transparency, i want INEC to give the list of those working in each polling station to the political parties so that we can check the authenticity of the people.
“INEC must be transparent. The political parties would be able to check the authenticity of each individual. I am not saying that should give the list to Action Congress of Nigeria [ACN] but to all political parties”
Speaking on the protestation by the Yewa people that they were not given the governorship ticket of the party, the former Governor said that it was their right to aspire but that every right has a limit when the right of others must also be respected.
He said “saying that people should not come to campaign in their area is dangerous. if the other senatorial districts also say they don’t want to see anybody too, what do you think will happen? That is dangerous.
“The Yewa people need the cooperation of others. to alienate the rest of the state is dangerous.”
the ACN governorship candidate Senator Ibikunle Amosun and former Minister of Mines, Alhaji Sarafadeen Tunji Ishola also registered in their wards this afternoon
