THE Kaduna state chapter of the People’s Redemption Party, PRP, held its gubernatorial primary election with Second Republic governor of the state, Malam Balarabe, emerging the party’s governorship candidate in the forthcoming general elections.

In his acceptance speech, the 75 years old Musa who insisted that age is no barrier to leadership asserted that, “I wish to stage a comeback to the Kaduna political landscape as governor in order to save the people from the present level of poverty and hunger which was brought about by lack of good governance and high level of corruption.”

Delegates from the 23 local government areas had unanimously adopted Musa as the PRP governorship candidate, at the Murtala Square, after which he distributed the party’s flag to them with an instruction to go to their various areas and spread the message.

“It is time to let those who have no more business in the state to know that they should get ready to quit their positions because the masses of the people are craving for the development of the state and the nation as a whole,” Musa said, noting that he would double the achievements hmade during his short tenure as governor between 1979 and 1981 when the then NPN_dominated House of Assembly impeached him.

“Age is no barrier to enthroning good governance and saving the population from the present history of poor leadership. At the age of 75, I feel I can contribute better to the growth of Kaduna state than ever before. I encourage any member of our party to rise up to the occasion to save our country from the present level of poverty, hunger and poor governance that have pervaded the nation and Kaduna state, age is no barrier for the interest to serve the people.”
