Secretary General of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev (Dr.) Moses Iloh has described sports, particularly football in the year 2010 as a huge loss for Nigeria football but was quick to hail the Super Falcons for making the country proud.
According to the former Cycling Federation of Nigeria president, Sports in 2010 was a total failure for the country. He said if not for the Falcons who restored the country’s pride with their performance at the Africa Women Championship in South Africa, it would have been a total disappointment for the country.
“Our sports in 2010 did not show any mark of particular advancement. Where we are supposed to advance, we were hanging around. Thank God for the Falcons who tried to redeem our image in football.On the way forward for sports in 2011, Rev. Iloh said government should stop interfering in order to avoid confusion.
