Xmas: Diaspora group hails Obi on security

By Vincent Ujumadu
THE President of Anambra World Assembly, a coalition of Anambra people in the Diaspora, Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, has commended Governor Peter Obi and the entire people of the state for a crime-free Christmas celebration, describing it as the most peaceful in recent times.

Anakwenze, who was the former president of Anambra State Association in the USA, made the commendation during a follow up tripartite meeting of Anambra people in the Diaspora, the League of Anambra Professionals, LAP, and Governor Obi at Government Lodge in Awka.

According to him, the peace and security being experienced in the state testify to efforts by the present administration towards security of lives and property and urged the governor not to relent.

He also commended the people for their support to the government adding, that “without the cooperation of the people of the state, no matter how good the governor is, he will not achieve much.”

Anakwenze also hailed the state government for what he called the giant efforts of the governor in road construction.

He said in spite of the large number of cars on the road during the Xmas and New Year festivities, there were no serious cases of traffic congestion.

On their meeting with the governor, Anakwnze said it was at the instance of the governor who encouraged the people of the state living in other parts of the world to think home by investing at home and contributing ideas on how Anambra State would be better.

“We are happy at the innovation Governor Obi has brought to governance. When other governors call people to come and eat, the man is busy calling everybody to come and contribute to the growth and development of the state. This, to me, is true leadership,” he further said.
