THE Niger Delta Democratic Coalition, NDDC, a group in the Niger Delta, has called on the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to expel Mallam Adamu Ciroma and former President Ibrahim Babangida for alleged anti-party activities.

Others who they recommended for expulsion is the consensus candidate of the North, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and others involved in the consensus arrangement.

They argued that the consensus arrangement was anti party activities since it was an arrangement of a section of members of the party.

The group in a statement signed by its National Coordinator, Chief Dennis Otuaro, asserted that “the recent comment by former President Babangida that he may quit the party was an insult on the party and we are asking the party to urgently expel them because it is obvious that they have formed their own gang and ready to war with the party.

“For a group of party members to go and impose somebody as the candidate of the North is not only anti- party but an attempt to divide the nation.”

“The National Executive Council of the PDP should not waste time in expelling them from the party after investigations. It is the likes of IBB and Atiku that held the PDP hostage for years because they don’t want new blood to be injected in the party.

“They are part of the forces working against the entrenchment of internal democracy in the PDP because they want to remain in power by all means. Action must be taken now so as to seve as deterrent to future offenders” it stated.
