Atlanta ‘96 Olympic gold medalist, Kingsley Obieku has called on the new Eagles coach, Samson Siasia to hands off Heartland FC of Owerri and face his new assignment.
Obiekwu said he never supported the idea of Siasia keeping the Heartland job while handling the national team at the same time. “Nowhere in the world can a coach keep two jobs. I will never support a national coach to maintain a coaching job with a club,” Obiekwu said in a telephone chat with Sports Vanguard, adding that “even in Europe, it is never done.”
Obiekwu said Siasia must leave the Owerri outfit for another coach so that he(Siasia) could concentrate with his national assignment. “If he wants to monitor local players, he could assign a coach to do that for him.”
