Finally, the much-awaited opportunity for the Super Falcons to avenge their 2008 African Women Championship semi final exit against Equatorial Guinea offered itself yesterday as the two countries qualified for the final of the 2010 edition which comes up Sunday, 1.00pm Nigerian time.

Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea overcame their semi final foes yesterday.   Nigeria set the ball rolling after claiming a 5-1 rout of Cameroun in the first semi final played at the Sinaba Stadium while Equatorial Guinea silence the Banyana Banyana with their vociferous supporters when they beat the host 3-1 to reach their second consecutive final.

The Nigerians who are yet to forget thier defeat two years ago now have the chance to assert themselves against their small neighbours whose team has a strong Nigerian presence.

One of the Falcons players that prayed fervently for the match up is pacy Stella Mbachu who was part of the 2008 squad.
Soon after overcoming Cameroun, Mbachu confessed she was praying for Equatorial Guinea to beat the host so that Nigeria would use them to put records straight.
