UYO- Former Senate Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio has declared that he was representing the entire Akwa Ibom state and not only Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District he was elected to represent at the Red Chamber.

Senator Akpabio who spoke at Ukana, in Essien Udim council, said his constituency projects have been spread across the three senatorial districts, saying: ‘’I am not only a Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District. I am a Senator representing the whole of Akwa Ibom State.’’
He added: ‘’I have projects I have commissioned in Uyo Senatorial and Eket Senatorial Districts even when I am meant to only represent Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district.
‘’I shall continue to speak for the people of Akwa Ibom State till I die. I am for everyone. I am for all the 31 Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State. I am for the 10 Federal Constituencies in Akwa Ibom State. I am for the 3 Senatorial districts in Akwa Ibom State. I am for the voiceless, I am for the less privileged and I am even for you that is opposing me.’’
The former Senate Minority leader, maintained that the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari, would ensure his victory at the election as the Akwa Ibom people were very appreciative of his effort at developing the state and the various appointments the APC led administration has given to the people of the state.
He also talked about the performances of the gubernatorial candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere at the helm of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)., describing him as well prepared for the job of governing the state.
He however, berated his successor, Governor Udom Emmanuel over alleged non-performance, expressing dismay that after almost four years the Governor could not point to any project that he initiated and completed.
He said he was shocked that Governor Emmanuel, whom he brought from Lagos and installed as a Governor despite the fact that he was not a member of the party on whose platform he stood election and become Governor, could have the audacity to call a world press conference to insult him.
He said: “Only God could have made it possible to make someone who was never a party member to become a governor. Only God could have made somebody who has never had a party card or know what is called ward to become a governor.
“Only God could have made someone who could not have stood election on his own even as a Councilor and win to be brought from somewhere and made Governor. Only God could have made a man who has never helped anyone to become anything to become governor”.
Akpabio however urged the people to disregard the opprobrium thrown at him by his former PDP family, but should rather get their Personal Voter Cards and ensure that they respond through the ballot by voting the PDP out of the Hill top Mansion in 2019.
He described Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District as the stronghold of APC, as such the people should ensure they vote overwhelmingly for the party, disclosing that the Vice President would soon visit the state to launch the trader moni where market women would benefit from the scheme with cash grants by the federal government.
