Port Harcourt—A blueprint has been designed by the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, to cater for rural dwellers as well as the informal sectors of the country. The take off is be predicated on the signing of the National Health Insurance Bill by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Speaking to Vanguard, at the Federal Secretariat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, South-South Coordinator of NHIS, Prince Nasiru Ikharo, said a framework had also been designed to embrace retirees, organised private sector, urban self-employed, students and other vulnerable groups.
