Lagos state governor, Babatunde Fashola is expected to be the guest of honour at the final of the 2010 APFAN U-17 boys football tournament coming up on October 23 at the practice pitch of the national stadium, Lagos.

The final of match will feature Young Stars football club from Trade Fair complex against Ambassadors FC of Mile 2.
The tournament which is being put together by the Association of Proprietors of Football Academies of Nigeria has been described as a breeding ground for talented youngsters who eventually get picked up by clubs in the country’s soccer leagues.

Speaking with Sport Vanguard on the final, scribe of the association, Mike Etim said a third place match featuring Peace Football Academy and Idowu Boys Football Academy will precede the final.

APFON was recently registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission with Dr Francis Akinremi of the National Institute for Sports as its national President.
