ABUJA—The National Working Committee, NWC, of All Progressives Congress, APC, has approved the appointment of Mr Yekini Nabena as acting National Publicity Secretary of the party.

This was as the NWC cancelled the state congress earlier conducted in Cross River State, saying that the exercise fell short of its constitutional provisions.

The NWC, however, upheld the conduct of the Ward and local government congresses in the state which were observed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

In the statement by the National Chairman of the party, Mr Adams Oshiomhole and the National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni, shortly after a meeting of NWC, yesterday, the party said: “The NWC at its meeting of August 1, 2018 has reviewed the conduct of the congresses in Cross River State.

“However, NWC has found that the conduct of the state congress was not in conformity with the party’s constitution and guidelines.”
