Anambra east  APGA executive officers frowns at the non confirmation of Hon Cyril Okafor, APGA Youth Leader for Anambra east local government as the Transition Committee Chairman of the local government by Anambra State House of Assembly.

They condemned the false allegations levelled against Hon Cyril Okafor by Hon Obinna Emenaka, the member representing Anambra east constituency at the State House of Assembly.

In an open petition to Governor Obiano  and other prominent leaders of the party, they threatened to suspend and recall Hon Obinna Emenaka on his failure to withdraw his petition against the nomination of Hon Cyril Okafor as Anambra east Transition Chairman.

Below is the 7 declaration they made over the non confirmation of Hon Cyril Okafor as Anambra east Transition Chairman by Anambra State House of Assembly  (1) The Anambra east APGA executive officers hereby direct Hon.Chris Obinna Emenaka to put up in national daily within 7 days, a disclaimer against the spurious allegations raised by him on the floor of Anambra State House of Assembly against Hon Cyril Okafor on the 26/7/2018 which is an affront and insult to our amiable Governor who happens to come from Anambra east local government and also the nominator of the nominee.

Hon Cyril Okafor has never misappropriated or converted any fund entrusted to him in the past where he worked or in the party as the local government Youth Leader or even as an S.A. to the Governor. This allegation had been a machination of Hon Obinna Emenaka and was raised and treated by the party at the local government and State level and found to be false and calculated calumny to destroy the reputation of Hon Cyril Okafor.

Hon Obinna Emenaka knew at the time he was raising this, that there was no evidence of Police report or trial and judgement/conviction of any Court in the Country against Hon Cyril Okafor. (2) It is also important to State that the petition written and signed by the executive of Nsugbe ward 11 against this nominee and which Hon Obinna Emenaka alleged on the floor of the House was an aftermath of the 2017 governorship election in Anambra State.

It was a petition to the State Chairman of APGA against the ward Chairman of Nsugbe ward 11 and the nominee which the committee set up for that purpose after trial found it vexatious and unfounded.

The said petition and counter petition of Hon Cyril Okafor before the panel set by State Chairman of APGA are hereby attached and marked Exhibits 1A , 1B, IC and 1D (3) That Hon. Obinna  Emenaka has since inception of his 2nd term decided to bring the party down by enthroning confusions and denials of  any form of financial assistance to enable the party grow and which the party was tolerating for the purpose of the re-election of his His Excellency and for the purpose of not washing our dirty linen in public since we were the governors constituents and were supposed to be the pacesetters. (4) That the party is fully aware of the fact of various anti party activities of Hon Obinna Emenaka ranging from the last governorship election of Governor Willie Obiano where Hon Obinna Emenaka and his father connived to work against the Governor in favour of Tony Nwoye. This is not a hidden matter and the party has the proof.

Furthermore, Hon Obinna Emenaka has boasted severally before party members that are willing to testify when called upon, that Senator Ubanese igbeke is his boss , mentor and godfather and that he would always work with his directives even if they truncate any process employed by APGA

(5) We hereby, without any equivocation, call on Hon Obinna Emenaka as a matter of urgency  (7 days from Friday 27th July 2018 being the date of this letter)to render account of all the constituency money collected by him since May 2015 till date. It is disheartening and worrisome also, that the only sins of Hon Cyril Okafor, the Local government APGA Youth Leader is that he reprimanded Hon Obinna Emenaka to stop working against his constituents, being hostile to the party and it’s executive, stop his anti-partism and denials of necessary assistance to the party and to render an account of all the constituency money he collected.

That was the brain behind his hostility and false allegations to frustrate the nomination of Hon Cyril Okafor as Local government Transition Chairman nominee.

This attitude is a smirk of interposing his personal interest the interest of his constituents and we pray the members of Anambra State House of Assembly to disregard all attacks on Hon Cyril Okafor by Hon Obinna Emenaka and treat same  as a non-representation of the wishes of the good people of Anambra east. (6) To put the record the straight and for the purpose of clarity, APGA Anambra east is not ready and will not accept any other nominee outside Hon Cyril Okafor who is a right choice and the APGA Youth Leader of Anambra east.

This is because the outgoing council chairman really maltreated the party and when the news came of the nomination of Hon Cyril Okafor, all the APGA faithful received it with joy as a prayer answered and a reward for his firmness in fighting for the Governor against Tony Nwoye rigging plan in Nsugbe ward 11 which result he succeeded in cancelling. (7) In conclusion, we cannot stay and watch Hon Obinna Emenaka bring the actions of the Governor and national leader of our party to ridicule and ignominy. This is an affront to the personality of the Governor and needs to be reprimanded.

We are giving Hon Obinna Emenaka 7 clear days from the date of this letter to tender an unqualified apology to Governor and people of Anambra east for embarrassing the Governor publicly.

He is also to tender the same apology to APGA Anambra east in a national newspaper and to put up a disclaimer clause against the motion he moved mala fide against the Local government nominee of Anambra east on the floor of Anambra State House of Assembly on 26/7/2018.

Hon Obinna Emenaka is also directed to reinstate with immediate effect the subsistence of Hon Awelle Menkiti as one of the councillors from igbariam as this was done without recourse to the constituents. Be it known that if after 7 clear days from today and Hon Obinna Emenaka refuses, omits, fails or neglect to do the foregoing, the party will have no option but to suspend him outrightly.

Again, the party at the local government will also involve the entire constituency for the recalling process of Hon Obinna Emenaka and make sure he is also handed over to EFCC for failure to account for the constituency monies he collected, since he calls all of us fools. We wish him luck while the saga last.
