The election which was endorsed by the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole took place at the Imo International Convention Centre, IICC, in Owerri.

Meanwhile, the Imo state APC stakeholders known as the “Allied forces”  have distanced themeselves from the congress, claiming that their  matter is in appeal court.

Speaking on the congress,  the  chairman of the congress committee, Adesayo Ojo said he was satisfied with the outcome.

“We are satisfied with the conduct of the exercise. Let me tell you, it complied with the extant rules of the party.

“The members of the committee worked tirelessly to ensure that the exercise was hitch-free. We expect the  newly elected state executive members to work together as a team and bring back all aggrieved members to the fold.

He continued: “ We also expect the newly elected state executives of our great party to ensure that they reposition the party ahead of the 2019 general elections for victory.”

In his remark, Nwafor, said: “The new state leadership of the party is poised to deliver the party 100 per cent in the 2019 elections.”
