As part of activities marking Nigeria’s 50th independence celebration, the Initiative for Infrastructure and Modern City Development IIMCD and Infrastructure Journal UK, supported by the African Business Roundtable ABR, is organising a Nigerian Infrastructure Projects Development Awards in the country.
The award scheduled to hold in Abuja on the 17th of October 2010, will honour the long_standing careers and influences of past/present Nigerian Presidents, Heads of States and State governors.
The inaugural Award has it’s theme as Nigeria Infrastructure Development @50:Prospects & Challenges.
The event would also recognise and reward private sector achievements as it is expected to attract top Governments functionaries, Business Men and Women from within and outside the country with the following categories to be competed for:
Best State Government Initiative in Modern City Development, Best Public and Private Partnership Deal, Best Construction Company, Best State Government initiative in support of the millennium development goals, Best supporting Infrastructure Development International Institution and also The Lifetime achievement award category which we have named in honour of Nigeria’s late President His Excellency Umaru Musa Yaradua Lifetime Achievement Awards. In addition to profiling Nigeria’s infrastructure development success stories, the event would emphasize on corporate responsibility towards social development and good corporate citizenship.
Mr. Daniel Omonze, President/ Founder of IIMCD, said the IIMCD Nigeria Infrastructure Projects Development Awards 2010 will bring together decision makers from Nigeria’s institutional investment community to engage with infrastructure project sponsors, financiers, arrangers and developers to discuss current opportunities. He pointed out that the target audience will include senior representatives from:
Nigeria and outside Nigeria’s leading infrastructure companies, Project Developers, Sponsors, Investment Banks, Investment/Asset Management Firms, Municipalities, Infrastructure Funds, Institutional Investors, privatisation and investment promotion agencies, legal advisers, regulators & government agencies.
