Asiru takes TÀBÍRA to global stage

Nigerian fashion designer Simbiat Asiru is expanding her presence in the international fashion industry through TÀBÍRA Studio, a womenswear label that combines contemporary design with cultural influences and structured tailoring.

In a chat with Vanguard Asiru said, “My approach centres on creating clothing that allows women to express their personalities through design, drawing inspiration from cultural narratives, contemporary art and traditional textile influences.

“My career in fashion entrepreneurship began in 2011 with the establishment of Simbby House of Fab in West Africa. In 2025, we transitioned to TÀBÍRA Studio, marking a new phase in the development of the fashion business and its international ambitions.

“Our international expansion includes a launch showcase in Abu Dhabi in 2017, when we introduced our designs to consumers in the United Arab Emirates.”

She said TÀBÍRA Studio has since extended its commercial reach to customers across the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia and sub-Saharan Africa, according to information provided by the brand.

She added, “Recently, we presented our work at Culture Fashion Show UK 2026, a platform celebrating culture, fashion, creativity and talent under the creative direction of Gemma Hall, founder and creative strategy director.

“In July 2026, we also held a physical fashion exhibition in Nottingham, where the brand recorded strong customer turnout and significant sales, with several pieces selling out during the event.”
