The Joel Edafe Foundation (JEF) has demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian service and youth empowerment through a series of initiatives carried out in August 2026.

The activities included a humanitarian visit to Mother of Divine Grace Orphanage in Asaba, Delta State, food support for 30 widows, and a three-week business and mentorship programme organised in partnership with Neubrid Foundation.

On August 20, 2026, the foundation visited Mother of Divine Grace Orphanage, Asaba, where it donated rice, Indomie noodles, tin milk, toiletries, groundnut oil and other food supplies to the children and management of the home.

The visit was marked by excitement among the children, while the management of the orphanage expressed appreciation to the foundation for the gesture and its concern for the wellbeing of the children.

“Nobody should be left out from enjoying the opportunities that we all should be able to have” Joel Edafe said.

The following day, August 21, the foundation extended its humanitarian outreach to 30 widows, presenting them with foodstuffs for their families.

Also on August 21, the Joel Edafe Foundation, in collaboration with Neubrid Foundation, concluded a three-week business and mentorship programme aimed at equipping young skilled entrepreneurs with practical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.

65 participants were selected to receive training across six skill areas: hairdressing, pastry and confectionery, solar installation and maintenance, barbing, information and communication technology (ICT), and nails and lash technology.

Participants received practical training and business mentorship, while a business pitch session gave them the opportunity to present their ideas and demonstrate their entrepreneurial potential.

At the end of the programme, outstanding participants and category winners received professional equipment relevant to their respective trades.

The prizes included a baking oven for the pastry and confectionery winner, a laptop for the ICT winner, a professional toolbox for the solar installation and maintenance winner, and professional clippers and a complete barbing kit for the barbing category. Winners in the other categories also received equipment suited to their areas of expertise.

Speaking on the initiative, the founder of the Joel Edafe Foundation, Joel Edafe, said the programme was created to address the challenges faced by young skilled individuals/entrepreneurs who have the vision and ability to succeed but lack the resources to take the next step.

“We believe in democratising success by giving skilled and visionary individuals, the opportunity to turn their potential into progress.” Joel Edafe said.

He explained that the foundation’s approach goes beyond financial assistance, stressing the importance of practical training, mentorship and access to the resources required for beneficiaries to become self-reliant.

The foundation said it plans to build on the programme and expand its initiatives to reach more young people and vulnerable groups in subsequent editions.
